Waypoints are objects that allow players to freely teleport to any other charged-up Waypoint or Portal. They are spawned near many bosses and storyline locations. The first time a player uses a Waypoint, they will receive an Achievement.
To travel this way, players interact with an Ancient Waypoint to bring up their map screen, then select the icon of another teleporter. There is a brief animation and sound effect, followed by the screen fading down to black and back up again at the destination. This time expense makes them inefficient for traveling very short distances.
Other than the Waypoint in front of The Core, they can be looted with high enough mining damage. These can be placed on the ground anywhere in any world.
