Bosses

Bosses are large and challenging enemies linked to the various biomes. Their spawns are located at set distances from The Core at randomised angles. Defeated bosses drop useful items and some gate game progression.

Story[edit]

Early game[edit]

Glurch is one of the three Bosses of early game. It is usually the first boss a player encounters, always 65 tiles from the core. Glurch has an underground shaking jump attack similar to that of the regular-sized Orange and Red Slime mobs found close by. Also modestly challenging to fight.

When defeated, the Bearded Merchant NPC is released. Glurch always drops Glurch Eye, one of the three items required to power up The Core. Once emplaced in its Boss Statue, the world save file is marked with this item icon.

8,061 Clay Caves/Forgotten Ruins 200 (encircling)

Ghorm is one of the three bosses in early game. When defeated, Ghorm will drop Ghorm's Horn, one of the three items required to power up the core. Your world save file will also be marked with the same icon.

Ghorm spawns halfway between the Core and the Great Wall. It circles around the Core, moving between The Clay Caves and The Forgotten Ruins, destroying everything in its path. Ghorm the Devourer Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map, though largely unnecessary, as you can always find its track no matter which direction you go. Ghorm track appears approximately 220 tiles away from the core. You can use this measurement against any other bosses for reference. The track is approximately 8 tiles wide, filled with ground slimes.

To respawn Ghorm after it has been killed, place Ghorm Summoning Idol on its rune circle. Ghorms rune circle is found at the end of a separate side passage branching from the main path like a Q. The idol can be purchased from the Cloaked Merchant. The merchant will restock their items after some time has passed.

Malugaz is one of the three bosses in early game. When defeated, Malugaz will drop Stolen Crystal Heart, one of the three items required to power up the core. Your world save file will also be marked with the same icon.

Malugaz' arena is located in The Forgotten Ruins. Malugaz the Corrupted Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. It spawns approximately 350 tiles away from the core at a random angle, or 1.59 times longer radius than Ghorm's track.

To spawn or respawn Malugaz, place Skull of the Corrupted Shaman on the sigil at the center of the throne room. The skull can be crafted by using 3Crystal Skull Shard. Once you have three of them, use the item to craft it. Skull shards are dropped randomly from caveling enemies in the forgotten ruins.

Mid game[edit]

Azeos is one of the six titans in the game. When defeated, Azeos will drop Soul of Azeos, one of the six souls required to advance the story. Your character save file will also be marked with the same icon.

Azeos' arena is located in the Azeos' Wilderness. Azeos the Sky Titan Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. It spawns approximately 600 tiles away from the core at a random angle, or 1.27 times longer radius than the Great Wall. The arena is fully lit, and there are many bird droppings and feathers on the ground. A giant bird shadow can be seen passing by occasionally.

To spawn or respawn Azeos, place Large Shiny Glimmering Object anywhere in the arena. When respawning Azeos, make sure you find the right area as the arena gets bigger from Azeos' lightning. You might have to wait up to 5 minutes or longer for its shadow to reappear before you can respawn it. The object can be crafted by going to the Ancient Shrine, or if you have defeated Azeos, by talking to the Spirit Merchant that appears when placing Ancient Hologram Pod on the ground.

Omoroth is one of the six titans in the game. When defeated, Omoroth will drop Soul of Omoroth, one of the six souls required to advance the story. Your character save file will also be marked with the same icon.

Omoroth's arena is located in The Sunken Sea. Omoroth the Sea Titan Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. It spawns approximately 1100 tiles away from the core at a random angle, or 2.34 times longer radius than the Great Wall. The arena is fully lit, and there are 5 giant whirlpools.

To spawn or respawn Omoroth, equip Expert Lure in your off-hand, and use a fishing rod. Aim your lure on one of the whirlpools, wait until it bites, and then pull it out. You might have to wait up to 5 minutes or longer for its soul to disappear before you can respawn it. The lure can be crafted by going to the Ancient Shrine, or if you have defeated Omoroth, talking to the Spirit Merchant that appears when placing Ancient Hologram Pod on the ground.

Ra-Akar is one of the six titans in the game. When defeated, Ra-Akar will drop Soul of Ra-Akar, one of the six souls required to advance the story. Your character save file will also be marked with the same icon.

Ra-Akar's arena is located in The Desert of Beginnings. Ra-Akar the Sand Titan Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. It spawns approximately 1000 tiles away from the core at a random angle, or 2.15 times longer radius than the Great Wall.

To spawn or respawn Ra-Akar, place Thumper on the arena. The thumper can be crafted by going to the Ancient Shrine, or if you have defeated Ra-Akar, talking to the Spirit Merchant that appears when placing Ancient Hologram Pod on the ground.

Late game[edit]

Druidra is one of the six titans in the game. When defeated, Druidra will drop the Soul of Druidra, one of the six souls required to advance the story.

Druidra's arena is located in Azeos' Wilderness. Druidra the Wild Titan Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. It spawns approximately 1000-1200 tiles away from the core at a random angle.

To spawn or respawn Druidra, place the Wind Organ of Wilderness in the arena. It can be crafted at the Ancient Shrine, or if you have defeated Druidra, talking to the Spirit Merchant that appears when placing Ancient Hologram Pod on the ground.

Crydra is one of the six titans in the game. When defeated, Crydra will drop the Soul of Crydra, one of the six souls required to advance the story.

Crydra's arena is located in the Sunken Sea. The Crydra the Ice Titan Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. It travels beneath the surface, circling the Sunken Sea, and cannot be damaged until summoned.

To spawn or respawn Crydra, place the Wind Organ of Ice near its location. This item can be crafted at the Ancient Shrine, or if you have defeated Crydra, talking to the Spirit Merchant that appears when placing Ancient Hologram Pod on the ground.

Upon summoning, Crydra will emerge alongside a copy of Druidra the Wild Titan. This copy cannot be damaged and will disappear once Crydra is defeated

Pyrdra is one of the six titans in the game. When defeated, Pyrdra will drop the Soul of Pyrdra, one of the six souls required to advance the story.​

Pyrdra's arena is located in the Desert of Beginnings. The Pyrdra the Fire Titan Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. It travels beneath the surface, circling the Desert of Beginnings, and cannot be damaged until summoned.​

To spawn or respawn Pyrdra, place the Wind Organ of Fire near its location. This item can be crafted at the Ancient Shrine, or if you have defeated Pyrdra, talking to the Spirit Merchant that appears when placing Ancient Hologram Pod on the ground.

Upon summoning, Pyrdra will emerge alongside copies of Druidra the Wild Titan and Crydra the Ice Titan. These copies cannot be damaged and will disappear once Pyrdra is defeated.

Core Commander is the final story boss in the game. When defeated, it marks the completion of the main storyline.

Core Commander’s arena is located in the Desert of Beginnings, inside the Crystal Meteorite. It remains dormant until properly activated.

To spawn Core Commander for the first time, interact with and shatter the Crystal Meteorite after obtaining all six titan souls. To respawn Core Commander, place a Core Commander Summoning Idol on the rune inside the meteorite.

Post Game[edit]

Nimruza is a Post-Core Commander boss encountered within the Desert of Beginnings. The Nimruza, Queen of the Burrowed Sands Scanner can be used to locate its dungeon on the map.

To spawn Nimruza, players must place a Corrupted Sap, which can be crafted in the Ancient Shrine, on the rune inside its dungeon. Once defeated, Nimruza can be respawned by using another Corrupted Sap at the same location.

S.A.H.A.B.A.R. is a Post-Core Commander boss that is fought after Nimruza, and can be found in Breaker's Reach. The S.A.H.A.B.A.R. Scanner can be used to locate its dungeon on the map.

To spawn S.A.H.A.B.A.R. for the first time, players must place the Profane Override, which can be crafted in the Ancient Shrine, in the interactable computer. Once defeated, players can simply place the Profane Override on S.A.H.A.B.A.R.'s rune.

The Hive Mother is an optional early game side boss that is not required to be defeated to advance the story.

The Hive Mother spawns in the Larva Hive Biome. Hive Mother Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. It spawns approximately 330 tiles away from the core at a random angle, or 1.5 times longer radius than Ghorm's track.

To respawn the Hive Mother after it has been killed, place Hive Mother Summoning Idol on its rune circle. The idol can be purchased from the Cloaked Merchant. The merchant will restock their items after some time has passed.

King Slime is an optional Boss not necessary for game progression. He can be spawned by players using a Crown Summoning Idol at any of the slime boss runes around a world. Although his stats currently place him around mid-game in difficulty.

King Slime exhibits the same behaviour as the other giant slime bosses, attempting to jump onto players. In addition he sheds short live regular sized Royal Slime mobs when taking damage. He is the Core Keeper side of a crossover with Terraria, in which he also appears.

Mid Game[edit]

Ivy is an optional side boss that is not required to be defeated to advance the story.

It spawns in the Azeos' Wilderness, approximately 900 tiles away from the core at a random angle, or 1.91 times longer radius than the great wall. Ivy the Poisonous Mass Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. When you get close, your screen will shake periodically. Its lair is a big open space covered with poison ground slime. This slime slows your movement speed and poisons you, reducing your healing received by 75%.

To respawn Ivy after it has been killed, place Giant Slime Summoning Idol on its rune circle. The idol can be purchased from the Cloaked Merchant. The merchant will restock their items after some time has passed.

Morpha is an optional side boss that is not required to be defeated to advance the story.

It spawns in The Sunken Sea, approximately 1400 tiles away from the core at a random angle, or 2.97 times longer radius than the great wall. Morpha the Aquatic Mass Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. When you get close, your screen will shake periodically. Its lair is a big open space covered with slippery ground slime. This slime slows your movement down and makes your movement slippery, making your character harder to control.

To respawn Morpha after it has been killed, place Giant Slime Summoning Idol on its rune circle. The idol can be purchased from the Cloaked Merchant. The merchant will restock their items after some time has passed.

Igneous is an optional side boss that is not required to be defeated to advance the story.

It spawns in Molten Quarry, approximately 1400 tiles away from the core at a random angle, or 2.97 times longer radius than the great wall. Igneous the Molten Mass Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. When you get close, your screen will shake periodically. Its lair is a big open space covered with lava ground slime. This slime slows your movement down and burns your character, dealing constant damage. Igneous the Molten Mass has a chance to drop the Cipher Parchment which is used to craft the legendary Soul Seeker

To respawn Igneous after it has been killed, place Giant Slime Summoning Idol on its rune circle. The idol can be purchased from the Cloaked Merchant. The merchant will restock their items after some time has passed.

Late Game[edit]

Atlantean Worm is an optional Boss not necessary for game progression. It can be seen roaming the Sunken Sea at around 800-1000 tiles away from the Core. Atlantean Worm Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. Players may fight the boss by placing a Bait Pillar close to it.

Urschleim is an optional late-game boss found within The Passage. When defeated, it marks a significant challenge in the late game.

Urschleim’s arena is located within The Passage, where it continuously moves in a set path. The Urschleim Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map.

To spawn Urschleim, players must find it naturally as it roams through the Passage. To respawn Urschleim, use a Primeval Slime Cell anywhere in the biome.

Void Varies (Roaming)

Oblidra the Void Lord is a Post-Core Commander boss fought in Breaker's Reach. It roams the biome, making sharp turns and moving sporadically. It has no definite arena and can be located using the Oblidra the Void Lord Scanner.

To summon it, the player must place the Wind Organ of Void near it, which can be crafted by using 10 Oblivion Fragment

Haunted Hive Mother is a seasonal Halloween form of the Hive Mother.

Haunted Hive Mother uses the same arena as the Hive Mother, which is located in the Larva Hive Biome. Hive Mother Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. It spawns approximately 330 tiles away from the core at a random angle, or 1.5 times longer radius than Ghorm's track.

To spawn or respawn Haunted Hive Mother, place Haunted Hive Mother Summoning Idol on its rune circle. The idol can be obtained randomly when opening a Samhain Goodie Bag dropped from Big Larva, Caveling, Caveling Shaman, and Caveling Brute while Creepy Costume Party is running.

Azeos' arena is located in the Azeos' Wilderness. Azeos the Sky Titan Scanner can be used to locate its position on the map. It spawns approximately 600 tiles away from the core at a random angle, or 1.27 times longer radius than the Great Wall. The arena is fully lit, and there are many bird droppings and feathers on the ground. A giant bird shadow can be seen passing by occasionally.

To spawn or respawn Awakened Azeos, place Large Golden Egg anywhere in the arena. You might have to wait up to 5 minutes or longer for its shadow to reappear before you can respawn it. Large Golden Egg can be crafted from Easter eggs obtained during The Great Egg Hunt.
